We can not say enough good things about this power couple! Deb and John Fournet’s commitment to their health and fitness program is awe inspiring. They feel their success can be attributed to the personalized attention they receive at LIFT. They enjoy training together as a couple and feel the endurance training has enhanced their tennis game. One of the things they strongly feel sets LIFT apart from other exercise facilities in the area is the tie in with POLAR to monitor heart rate, zones, etc. They feel that Lift has kept them “in the game”.

Don’t tell Laurie Hagan your excuses for not working out! Due to a history of orthopedic injuries, surgeries and other health issues, she could come up with many reasons not to push her limits. Yet, she crushes every group and personal challenges we throw at her. She loves being a member of Lift, because our trainers focus on what she can do and not force her into something that would eventually cause more harm than good. She feels that everyone could benefit from such a personalized program.
Laurie’s philosophy is “Move or You’re Going to Loose It!” In her line of work, she sees first hand the adverse effects of members of our community who have led a mostly sedintary lifestyle. She focuses on strength, flexibility and endurance to ward off future issues.
Warren Duclos exemplifies relentless dedication and commitment to his fitness program! He came to us from physical therapy due to multiple back issues, now there is nothing holding him back. Before Lift, he would be the one have to sit and rest all the time while traveling. He’s now the leader of the pack!
Gitte came to us straight from physical therapy after a foot operation. Today she can do things she never thought she could do again due to severe arthritis in her hip, such as sit cross-legged on the floor. She thanks all of the trainers at Lift Training Studios for tailoring her activites to fit her needs and challenge her in a safe manner. As a swim instructor and owner of Northshore Swim, she needs her strength, balance and flexibility to teach both children and adults.

Thank you LIFT for my new body! No one ever had the knowledge, expertise, or patience to help me achieve my goals. Here I am, 5 years later and I’m keeping off the weight! Losing over 150 lbs was a shock, but my trainer believed in me and helped me set goals along our journey. Each step was slow but progressive, helping me tackle obstacles along the way. I look better now than I did in my twenties!
I’ve been working out at LIFT for the past 8 months and have seen amazing results in that time. I’ve lost 25 lbs along with lowering my fat percentage from 25 percent to 12 percent. I have never felt stronger or healthier, even when I lifted weights consistently in college. My husband and I are so happy to have discovered LIFT Training Studios. The impact in our lives has been amazing. Turning 49 years old and knowing I had to start being proactive about my health, I signed up at LIFT for a seven week program — 30 minute sessions, three times per week, with Lift’s Lead personal trainer . Realizing 49 years of on-again-off-again exercise habits (mostly off-again) had taken a toll, and being reasonably sure 30 minutes wouldn’t kill me, I put my confidence in the expertise of Lift. Seven weeks later, I had lost pounds, inches and body fat. I was so excited about the improvement I had seen. And so was my husband! We decided LIFT was well worth working into our budget, and two years later continue to believe that. So much so, that at the beginning of this year my husband, Rick, who has always been well-disciplined with exercise, also became a client of LIFT and is seeing the difference a personal trainer makes. I ran one mile for the first time ever in my life just before turning 50 years old. I’ve lost about 20 pounds, 24 inches, and half my body fat (and yes, that does include my thighs!). Who knew I would ever actually see abs and not just believe they were there by faith? And, my husband and I recently rode our new bicycles 40 miles in the Tour de Life! Perhaps the most amazing transformation has been my attitude about exercise, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Exercise is not a dirty word any more, and I’ve discovered nutritious food can actually be tasty! I may be getting older, but I feel new and improved. LIFT Training Studios has a staff of professional personal trainers who plan creative, challenging workouts designed to meet individual needs. Rick and I continue to be encouraged and inspired to make healthy choices that we know will reap a lifetime of reward. And as for me and what keeps me motivated? The same as it was two years ago. Throughout my life physical fitness has always been a priority. I was satisfied with my fitness level but I knew I could push myself to another level. After college and starting a full time job, my fitness routine became intermittent. I knew at that point I would need someone to give me that extra push and hold me accountable for my workouts. Fortunately, my friend recommended that we join Lift together for a 7-week program to enhance our fitness level. This could not have come at a better time since my wedding day was in 7 months. After seven weeks at Lift I was hooked! The trainers’ professionalism, creativity and dedication had me coming back for more. Ten months later I am still hooked. Tim has been an excellent trainer and a great motivator. Throughout my training he has also placed a great emphasis on nutrition. Being a part of Lift has greatly improved my body and overall health.
The quality of my life before I discovered fitness was very low. Physically, I was always tired and never slept well. I was over weight, standing 5’ 10” and weighing 218lbs with a waist size of 41”. My poor lifestyle and dietary choices led me to having high blood pressure and eventually being a first stage diabetic. Mentally, I was distressed with the way I felt and looked and I was not comfortable being around others because of it. In December of 2006, I found myself at 64 1/2 years old on blood pressure medications while the doctor informed me about my diabetic problems (What a great Christmas present). At last, I knew it was time for a change. I had a long talk with myself and decided if I wanted to be around much longer I needed to take action. Fitness has changed my life in so many ways. No longer do I have medical problems, I sleep well at night, eat healthy meals, but most of all I feel good about myself. My current weight is 158 lbs , waist size 31, Body Fat is 11.8 %! Thanks to the trainers at LIFT Training Studios, I am stronger now then any time in my life! With out my personal trainer and the training techniques they teach me, the results I have achieved would not be possible. They motivate, challenge, and guide you to a better life.
3 years ago, I walked into Lift just a few months before my wedding needing to tone up fast. I didn’t have much weight to lose but I knew my body could be healthier and look better. Having already bought my bikini’s for the honeymoon too, the pressure was really on! Lift started me instantly on a meal plan with awesome meal suggestions that actually helped me with my stomach issues as well. Weeks into my training, my dress was already being taken in more and more. I had never looked better! After the big day, Lift was just a part of my life. Not long after, I found out I was pregnant and Lift kept me in shape during the whole 9 months and got me back into shape soon after. My husband joined me in training and we completed our first half marathon with Lift’s help and support. Having just welcomed my second son into the world, I know exactly what to do now to get my pre-baby body back. Thank you LIFT for keeping me fit! You are like a home away from home.
